Nobody wants to share a cubicle with a new hire like Dwight Schrute.
The beet-farming volunteer sheriff’s deputy/paper salesman creates many awkward moments because of his differences with co-workers on NBC’s “The Office.”
But according to new research co-authored by a Brigham Young University business professor, better decisions come from teams that include a “socially distinct newcomer.” That’s psychology-speak for someone who is different enough to bump other team members out of their comfort zones.
The Many Fashions of Darcel Grimes

For the last couple of months I recorded my local news, WLOS, and did screen captures of our local news diva, Darcel Grimes. I can honestly say I never pay attention to our local news. It all blurs together, except for the pastor who stole a dildo. However, I do notice Darcel Grimes’ monochromatic fashions. For two decades she still reigns supreme on our local news. Many criticize her signature bob and want her to retire. I say phooey. (I would use more foul language, but I am not in the mood to curse today. Ha!)
Since I am a fan of monochromatic ensembles, I can appreciate her styling. In 42 days of recordings, she wore just a handful of contrasting colors. I love the military-style jackets she has been working lately. She did repeat a yellow and another green ensemble. My only pet peeve is that she wears the same outfit for the 11 o’clock news that she does for the evening news. I understand during this recession about recycling and it is easier just to stay in the same frock.
Darcel started Twittering like the rest of the news world. She occasionally posts at the WLOS blog. I was disappointed to learn that she isn’t as put together in person as on the teevee.
Okay, it is Saturday and I decide to brave the crowds and head to SuperWalmart. I throw on a pair of my son’s old jeans and a sweatshirt(forget the make up) and head out.
I understand about comfort, but when out in the public I think everyone should dress well. That’s just me though.
Because I am lazy, I will not analyze each ensemble. I failed to date accordingly. Oh well…

Lindsay Duncan- Doctor Who’s Companion

According to the Daily Record, Lindsay Duncan will be the Doctor’s companion in the second special this year. Filming begins in the Spring.
This really excites me. I adore Lindsay Duncan. I have been a big fan of hers since The Reflecting Skin and A Year in Provence. I even like the movie Under The Tuscan Sun and will watch it once a year for her character’s fabulous fashions.
Then, there is Rome and Duncan as Servilia of the Junii. Now that is an exit for a series.
She’s a fabulous actress and I cannot wait for her role in the Doctor Who universe. I just hope this is true.
